This vintage set of five-inch dolls represents a beautiful traditional Polish wedding party. Each doll has been meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans from the Spoldzielnia Pracy R.L.I.A. in Krakow, Poland. "Cracow region country wedding constitutes a complex of traditional folk rites, related to the marriage contract, to the elimination of the newly married couple and especially the bride from the society of single people and to securing them by various means the best of luck for their new life. Among the ancient ceremonies of that type which are obsolescent nowadays as no longer comprehensible, one beautiful, Old Polish custom has been preserved, namely to welcome with bread and salt, given to the young couple returning home from the church ceremony by the parents or wedding-host and hostess and that is a kind of approval of the newly contracted marriage."SEE PHOTOS FOR CONDITION.
