Duncan Royale became well known during the 1980s for producing exceptionally detailed collector figurines inspired by classic clown characters and the rich traditions of circus entertainment.
This piece depicts the classic Auguste clown, one of the most recognizable clown archetypes in circus history. The Auguste clown is traditionally characterized by exaggerated costumes, expressive facial features, and playful comedic antics. This figurine captures that charm perfectly with its colorful attire, detailed sculpting, and whimsical presentation. A small violin rests at the clown’s feet, adding additional character and visual appeal to the piece.
The craftsmanship is impressive throughout, featuring hand-painted details, realistic textures, and vibrant colors that make this figurine an excellent display piece for collectors of clowns, circus memorabilia, Duncan Royale collectibles, or vintage decorative art.
The underside retains its original gold foil Duncan Royale Collectors Edition label and green felt base.
