Vintage Pewter CANDLE SNUFFER designed by renowned South African artist, Carrol Boyes, in the shape of a nude female swimmer or diver.
As with many of Ms. Boyes’s pieces, a pewter alloy was used in the sculpting of this candle snuffer.
Carrol Boyes is well known for having designed and produced high-quality and unique, quirky yet functional pieces of art which could be used every day, such as this snuffer.
Ms. Boyes passed away in 2019. While her studio is still producing new designs today, her vintage pieces, such as this snuffer, are highly sought after and collectible.
Candle snuffer is 12” long.
EXCELLENT vintage condition, but will need a bit of cleaning. Handwash in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft and clean cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, detergents and scouring. Do not place in dishwasher. Can also be cleaned with pewter cream and a polishing cloth.
