Vintage Asian GEISHAS Japan BLACK LACQUER MOTHER OF PEARL Wall Art Panel

Lovely Asian decorative solid brass hanging hook attached to the top, which makes the piece 37.25\" high
Features a serene scene of 3 Japanese Geisha ladies in their finery, standing and sitting in a gorgeous landscape. There are rocks, temples, trees, and a mountain range in the background
These panels usually feature TWO ladies, so this one is quite generous.
The level of detail on each of this panel is magnificent- hand cut from pieces of abalone/mother of pearl in lustrous, iridescent pastel shades that reflect like rainbows. Very tiny, minute hand carved details on the robes, the hair, the faces- plus all hand painted embellishments such as the landscape work being painted in gold gilt.
Frame is built up around the main scene within shadowbox style, to protect the delicate shell figures and to convey depth. All one piece.
Frame features traditional Asian style lattice patterns in gold, silver, and white, with gold gilded leaves as central features.
Excellent condition-I can see NO broken or chipped pieces to the shell after careful examination.NO damage to the figures or lacquer other than one small flaked off edge line on the outer frame, see last pic, very minor, and someone has long ago painted it gold to match the gold around it. Hard to notice. No nicks chips scratches damage splintering fading or repair. Black lacquer is very glossy and without dullness or loss of shine. There is some slight rubbing at the edges normal for age, well away from the artwork- very minor. Some slight wear to BACK of piece normal from light contact against a wall when hanging.
This is a stunning piece, very special- fabulous for a collector. A showstopper.
The quality on this one is truly \'the best of the best\'- the level of Artistry is very fine and NOT the crudely made export pieces so often available for purchase.
