Vtg 1930s Mexican Feather Art Peacock Painting Noonan-Kocian St Louis Frame
Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible Vintage Mexican Feather Art Painting featuring two vibrant peacocks perched on a branch. This pre-war piece of Mexican Folk Art (Arteplumaria) combines hand-painted details (leaves and branches) with stunning, multi-colored real bird feathers that give the peacocks an exquisite 3D texture.
The artwork comes housed in its original dark wood-tone frame under protective glass.
Collector's Provenance & History:
The back of the frame features the original metallic, scalloped gallery sticker from the legendary **Noonan-Kocian Co. of Saint Louis, Missouri**. Active from 1893 to 1974, Noonan-Kocian was one of the premier elite art dealers in the United States, famously known for handling and framing works by French Impressionists like Claude Monet, as well as renowned Western artists like Oscar E. Berninghaus.
Based on the style of the sticker typography, metallic paper, and the handwritten inventory code ("2/500"), this piece was handled and framed during the peak pre-war era of the gallery, dating this frame and artwork combination to circa **1920s–1940s**. This rare provenance adds incredible historical value for art enthusiasts and regional historians.
