This is a LARGE vintage Chinese porcelain fish bowl (jardinière) featuring intricate hand-painted Famille Rose and Famille Verte style floral and peacock motifs with a patterned turquoise border.
Decorated with vibrant enamel painting showing peacocks, blossoming branches, and chrysanthemums against a white ground, complemented by a gilded rim and geometric turquoise shoulder band with hand-painted goldfish or koi swimming on the interior.
Traditionally used as a large decorative planter (cachepot) or vessel for keeping goldfish and koi.
Mid-to-late 20th-century decorative export porcelain inspired by classic Qing dynasty palettes
On the bottom is an iron-red six-character reign mark written in Chinese Kaishu (regular script) that reads "大清同治年製" (Dà Qīng Tóng Zhì Nián Zhì), meaning "Made in the Tongzhi Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty.
Measures approximately 13.75” tall x 17.5” diameter and weighing approximately 27 pounds.
