Its generous 5½-inch copper/brass-colored bowl is secured to a long, dark iron handle with contrasting metal rivets. The handle has a pleasing, purposeful shape, extending approximately 15⅝ inches; the ladle measures 20 inches overall. It has the presence to display beside a fireplace or among early American kitchenware.
The handle bears three stamps: WMBG, a middle mark that appears to read BR, and 1992. WMBG points to Williamsburg, Virginia. The identity behind the BR mark has not been confirmed, so the photographs of the stamps are included for collectors to examine.
