Up for sale is an authentic vintage Japanese Urushi lacquerware round tray from the highly prestigious Zohiko studio in Kyoto, one of Japan’s most historic and celebrated traditional lacquerware makers.
The face of the tray features a striking, clean vermilion red outline design of a stylized Chrysanthemum (Kiku), a powerful symbol of longevity and rejuvenation in Japanese culture. Underneath the deep black finish, you can see subtle, beautiful hints of the natural wood grain texture showing through. The reverse side features the authentic stamped red Zohiko maker's seal.
