This is a wonderful vintage British studio pottery figurine from the acclaimed Winstanley Pottery (Norfolk, England). This Size 1 piece captures a playful tabby kitten rolling onto its back. Winstanley figurines are world-renowned for their striking, handmade cathedral glass eyes that realistically catch the light and follow the viewer.
This particular example features the handwritten "Winstanley" signature and size mark on the unglazed base. It also retains its original vintage foil retailer label from Saks Fifth Avenue, confirming its status as a premium mid-to-late 20th-century import. No two Winstanley pieces are exactly alike due to the hand-painted pottery process.
