Vintage Welch Scientific Laboratory Apparatus No. 1829 U-shaped laboratory magnet with steel keeper and original box.
This is an older educational/scientific laboratory magnet manufactured or supplied by Welch Scientific. The heavy U-shaped magnet is painted black and has an \"N\" stamped into one arm identifying the north pole. The magnet measures 5 & 1/4\" tall X 3\" wide.
Includes the removable steel keeper shown in the pictures, which fits across the poles of the magnet for storage.
The magnet itself is exceptionally clean for its age with very little visible wear. The original Welch Scientific Laboratory Apparatus box is also included. The box is marked No. 1829 and has \"MAGNET\" handwritten on the front and sides. The box shows considerable age, storage wear, staining, edge wear and damage as pictured.
An interesting piece of vintage physics/scientific laboratory equipment that would be suitable for a collection, display, classroom demonstration or continued laboratory use.
