Offered is a beautiful 73.9 gram natural Rose Quartz mineral specimen from Bahia, Brazil, accompanied by its original vintage Ward’s Natural Science Establishment label.
The original specimen label identifies the material as “Quartz var. Rose Quartz”, locality Bahia, Brazil, and is marked Dana 210. The label also bears the name Ward’s Natural Science Establishment, Inc., Rochester, N.Y.
This is more than simply a piece of rose quartz—the original historical Ward’s label gives the specimen an interesting scientific and collecting history. Ward’s was a well-known American supplier of minerals and natural-history specimens, making specimens retaining their original Ward’s identification labels particularly appealing to collectors of historic mineral specimens, old scientific specimens, geological material, and vintage mineral collections.
