VEMCO clear plastic or acrylic drawing scales (Series \"P\") use a tapered, beveled design with an underside graduation placement and a raised center rib to improve measurement accuracy and prevent smudging.
Design Features
**Underside Graduations: Numbers and markings are printed on the bottom surface to eliminate parallax distortion (an optical error where the viewing angle misaligns with the measurement mark).
**Raised Rib: A center ridge lifts the tool slightly off the paper, protecting the markings and preventing capillary action (the unwanted drawing ink from bleeding underneath the plastic edge).
**Beveled Edges: The tapered shape brings the scale markings closer to the paper surface for precise reading.
While it has been \"pre-owned\", as advertised, this VEMCO Drafting Scale is in EXCELLENT condition! While it does have lite scuffing (from years of use), there are no nicks, cracks, cuts, scrapes, scratches, or damage of any sort!
