PROVENANCE:
This item came from my late father Steve Keyser’s private collection.
The flag was preserved alongside other vintage American and naval flags and historical correspondence from retired U.S. Navy Captain D. F. Purrinton discussing WWII submarine flags aboard USS Hoe (SS-258).
The correspondence belongs to the larger collection and is not included in this sale. A direct connection between this flag and USS Hoe has not been established.
The exact manufacturing date and military service have not been independently authenticated.
Inventory: S9 — Keyser Collection.
