The Two Continents was a longtime Washington dining institution associated with politicians, government officials and Washington society. Most notably, the restaurant is associated with the famous December 1974 dinner at which economist Arthur Laffer reportedly illustrated the idea later known as the “Laffer Curve” on a napkin while dining with Jude Wanniski, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney.
This matchbook is not represented as being from that specific dinner; it is an original period advertising piece from the restaurant.
