This vintage Tramp Art jewelry box features layered wooden construction with intricate notched geometric detailing throughout. The rectangular box has a hinged lid with a mirror on top and four decorative feet that appear to have been made from repurposed glass knobs. The exterior is painted off-white with metallic gold splattering, while the interior retains a purple and gold finish. Areas of purple paint visible beneath the exterior finish suggest that the box may have been repainted at some point. Measuring approximately 9" x 12", this distinctive piece showcases the charm and individuality of handmade folk art.
The box is sturdy overall, with visible wear, surface imperfections, cracks, gaps, and irregularities consistent with its handmade construction and age. The mirror is slightly loose and would benefit from additional fastening along the inside of the lid; it has been left in its found condition. The painted finish shows wear and areas of exposed underlying color. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show the overall condition.
Perfect for collectors of Tramp Art, primitive decor, and handmade folk art, this unusual box would make a charming addition to a vintage collection or a distinctive place to store jewelry, keepsakes, and small treasures.
