Description:This listing is for a vintage Danish-made Stanwell briar smoking pipe in the long-stem Churchwarden style. It is approximately 11 1/2 in long.
The pipe is stamped “STANWELL / REGD. No. 969-48 / HAND MADE” and “SELECTED BRIAR / 15”, along with “MADE IN DENMARK.” The stem also bears Stanwell\'s crowned “S” logo.
The #15 is Stanwell\'s shape designation. The REGD. No. 969-48 marking is associated with vintage Danish Stanwell production and refers to Stanwell\'s trademark registration.
Condition:Pre-owned vintage pipe in unrestored/as-found condition. It has been previously smoked and shows age- and use-related wear. There is carbon buildup/cake inside the bowl and darkening/use wear around the rim. There is also surface wear, oxidation/discoloration and wear at the mouthpiece.
