A vintage, Soviet-era desktop flip-style ("perpetual") calendar.
The calendar is in very good, fully functional condition; however, the cards indicating the months are missing (this is reflected in the price).
Features of this model:
Bas-relief: The upper section features an oval medallion depicting the Russian writer and fabulist I. A. Krylov.
Body material: Made of metal (primarily an aluminum alloy). All metal components are silver-colored, with no yellow tint.
Mechanism: The date is changed by flipping the main body 180 degrees. The day of the week is adjusted using a small roller wheel on the side, while the month cards were designed to be inserted manually into a frame at the bottom.
Such household items were produced by various enterprises; specifically, similar series were manufactured by the Leningrad Mint and other artistic metal-casting factories during the mid-20th century. Today, this calendar is a sought-after collectible and antique item.
