Vintage Shafford Japan Hand-Painted Porcelain Fan-Shaped Trinket Box
Beautiful vintage Shafford porcelain dresser, jewelry or trinket box featuring an unusual fan-shaped design with colorful pink roses, purple flowers and green foliage accented by extensive gold/gilt decoration.
The box includes its matching removable porcelain insert/tray, which features coordinating floral decoration and gold trim. The fitted lid is decorated with a larger floral bouquet and broad brushed-gold detailing around the edge. Additional floral sprays and gold decorative accents appear around the sides of the box.
The underside bears the distinctive Shafford crest/shield maker\'s mark with “HAND PAINTED.”

Good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs observed. There is age-related wear and loss to the gold decoration, particularly around the edges, as shown in the photos.
