Vintage Risque OH AH Couple Cast Metal Ashtray Naughty Novelty Mid Century For Sale

BUCK’S STATEMENT:

Back when cocktail lounges were smoky, jokes were a little less subtle, and nearly every coffee table had an ashtray, novelty pieces like this brought a touch of mischievous humor into everyday life. This vintage cast-metal ashtray features a wonderfully comical scene of a glamorous woman in a flowing evening gown standing beside a grinning gentleman in a suit and striped trousers. Above their heads are the exclamations “OH!” and “AH!” — a playful bit of risqué humor that feels right at home among the novelty gifts and barroom accessories of mid-century America. With its raised figures, silvery metal finish, and old-fashioned sense of humor, it makes an entertaining conversation piece even for those who have never smoked.

The oval ashtray features two integrated cigarette rests and a detailed raised-relief design. It is made of cast metal with a naturally aged silver-gray finish. Vintage condition with surface scratches, oxidation, darkened areas, and other signs of handling and use throughout. The relief remains well-defined, with the figures and lettering clearly visible. An amusing addition to a collection of vintage ashtrays, smoking accessories, cocktail lounge memorabilia, bachelor pad decor, or unusual Americana.
