**The Maker\'s History:**Before establishing his reputation as an elite Master Saddlemaker based out of Franktown, Colorado, Dick Sherer spent two decades working professionally as a research and exploration geologist. Dissatisfied with standard commercial canvas gear, he engineered his own heavy-duty field luggage. These were custom built in very limited quantities for field scientists, mining engineers, and surveyors worldwide.

**Condition Report:**This case is in beautiful, rugged vintage condition with excellent structural integrity. The leather is thick, pliable, and entirely free of dry rotting or thread separation. It displays an exquisite, authentic golden-brown oil patina earned from genuine field service. There is minor cosmetic surface scuffing/staining typical of age, and a faint historic ink marker stain on the underside of the interior flap which does not impact use or show when closed.
