Vintage Promise Of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Embroidery Needlepoint 14"H READ ALL
This gorgeous vintage or antique embroidered needlepoint cloth is based on one oftwelve Promises Of The Sacred Heart Of Jesus which are believed to have been communicated by Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun, in the 1670’s. It features hand embroidered imagery of the Sacred Heart complete with a green crown of thorns, blood, a fiery halo and flame along with green vinery at the top. The quote reads "I will bless every place where a picture of my heart shall be exposed and honored." The text and imagery are embroidered onto a thin & delicate fabric with what appears to be blue printed text along the bottom open hem that is no longer legible (at least to me). It appears to have some age to it with heavy wear including stains, fraying, discoloring and more so PLEASEread complete details below and review photos closely for condition. Please note that the needlepoint will be rolled for shipping and well protected with proper packaging and shipped in a rigid container (either a paperboard shipping tube or a box) in order to avoid any further damage during transit. • Approximate weight is .8 ozs (very lightweight)
• Measures approximately 10" x 14" (roughly, as it is not cut perfectly square/rectangular)
• Condition: In AS-IS vintage or antique pre-owned used condition with wear including dark stains that appear as small dark/black spots in the individual threads of the fabric when viewed under a jeweler's loupe (possibly stains from mildew or possibly original to the piece, but I cannot confirm or guarantee), at least several holes in the fabric where it has disintegrated over time, brittleness, dry rotting, yellowing, fraying & loose threads, an brownish oval impression surrounding the design where it was likely framed in an oval frame in the past, stains, dirt, dust, grime, wrinkles, pulled/loose threads, there is loose stitching on the face of the heart, the entire outside edge of the fabric is frayed and actively loosing threads, brown spots, heavy wrinkling, fading, sun damage, debris, loose fibers/lent/hair, and overall wear from age, handling and exposure to the elements.
