A charming matched pair of vintage porcelain chamberstick candle holders in a romantic Victorian-revival style. Each holder has a square tray with softly waved, upturned edges trimmed in gold. Four arched panels on each tray carry pink cabbage roses with green leaves, rosebuds and pale blue accents, framed by raised beaded gold borders. The corners feature embossed scrollwork highlighted in gold.
At the center of each tray is a cylindrical candle cup with a flared, gold-rimmed lip and embossed scroll relief with gold leaf accents. A looped finger handle rises from each tray and is trimmed with a gold stripe, in the classic \"carry to bed\" chamberstick form.
These are a lovely fit for cottage, shabby chic, French country, or Victorian-style décor. They work well on a vanity, nightstand, mantel, or tea table, and make a sweet addition to a collection of vintage rose china.

Condition:Good pre-owned vintage condition. No cracks observed, and the handles and candle cups are intact on both. There is light wear to the gold trim, most noticeable on the candle cup rims and along portions of the tray edges. One tray has a small rough spot at one corner of the gilt rim. There is light surface soiling and residue on the tray surfaces near the candle cups. Small dark firing specks appear inside the candle cups and on the undersides, and the unglazed foot rings show age toning and soiling. Minor glaze irregularities on the undersides are consistent with the original manufacture. The rose decoration is bright and clean on both pieces. Please see all detailed photos for condition.
