This is a vintage Pilot fountain pen marked \"Pilot Super Quality — Made in Japan,\" a designation Pilot used on its steel-nib pens from roughly the 1950s through the 1970s. The barrel and cap have a faceted, multi-sided cut rather than a smooth cylinder, with a small red accent visible at the barrel end. The nib is stamped \"Pilot Super Quality Japan <EF>\" — an Extra Fine point, with a breather hole and iridium tip, a size that\'s notably harder to find than the more common Fine or Medium nibs from this era. Measures 5 7/8\" closed.
\"Fill system: cartridge/converter (standard Pilot proprietary cartridge, not international standard) — the red tabs at the cap are a textured grip for unscrewing, not part of the filling mechanism. Recommend confirming there\'s a cartridge or converter installed before shipping, since none is visible in the photos.
CONDITION: Very good to excellent vintage condition. Has not been tested. See photos.
