A beautifully detailed vintage marquetry panel with a storybook quality. This inlaid wood scene is associated with Omar Khayyam’s Rubaiyat, featuring a seated couple surrounded by delicate foliage—the gentleman with an open book and wine goblet, his companion holding a stringed instrument.
The intricate contrasting wood tones, tiny inlaid details and wonderfully aged surface give this piece the warm character that only comes with time. Even the reverse retains its simple wooden hanging support and old cord, adding to its vintage charm.
