This heavy, artisan-crafted glass piece features intricate 24k gold gilded ornamentation and multi-colored flowers meticulously hand-painted on the upper surface and more colors hand-painted on the base (Cam Alti technique, meaning “under-glass,” refers to the traditional Turkish art and technique of reverse glass painting).
Due to the substantial 1/2-inch internal depth and the 3/4-inch total depth of the crystal blank, the plate boasts a stunning optical illusion. When looking down into the center, light refracts to reveal a three-dimensional floating floral arrangement, forming a distinct “Y” shape superimposed on the surface and then embedded deep with the glass.
