These signs were hung in sleeping cars by Pullman porters — flipped to the Quiet side at 9 p.m. and reversed to the Personal Property reminder during daytime hours. A tangible piece of American railroad history and Pullman porter heritage.
Authenticity is evident in the cardboard construction, surface crazing, organic wear pattern, brass grommet patina, and the paper fiber texture visible up close — details no reproduction captures. Shows honest age-appropriate wear: a hairline crack near the grommet and light edge wear. Both sides display beautifully, all text fully legible, and the traffic light graphic on the reverse is crisp. “Made in USA” stamp present.
