Vintage Norleans Cow Head Cutting Board Meat Carving Beef Cattle Made in Japan For Sale

Thrifting find. Vintage, circa 1960s Norleans brand wood and metal cow motif cutting board, Made in Japan. Has two recessed areas on the back for hanging. Made of a medium brown stained wood with silver-gray cast metal steer or bull head and feet accents. The metal is fairly heavy and looks like pewter, but I'm not sure if it is. I think the green felt pads on the back are covering the screws or bolts attaching the metal parts to the board. The whole thing measures about 21" long, 13" tall and is about an inch thick. Substantial and well made and weighs nearly 5 pounds. There are some scratches and dings in the wood as shown, particularly on the back at the hanging holes. It doesn't look like much cutting or meat carving was done on the board, and the heavy dust layers I cleaned off the top edge makes me think it spent most of its years hanging on a wall. Might be an attractive and unusual period accent to your rustic, cattle ranch, farmhouse, or western decor. Please take a look at the photos, and let me know if you have any questions.
