Vintage Niloak Pottery Matte Blue Double-Handled Vase with Scalloped Rim
A beautiful example of Niloak art pottery from Benton, Arkansas, featuring an elegant double-handled form and a soft matte blue glaze.
The vase has a full, rounded lower body that rises into a slender neck and opens into a deeply scalloped, flower-like rim. Two gracefully curved handles extend from just beneath the rim to the shoulders of the vase, creating a balanced, classical silhouette.
The blue glaze has a soft, velvety matte appearance, with subtle variations in its application that give the surface character. The actual color is more consistent than some of the photographs suggest, as lighting and digital photography exaggerate differences in tone.
The underside has an unglazed base with the impressed NILOAK mark, identifying the piece as a product of the historic Arkansas 7.0 inches tall
Approximately 6.5 inches across, including handles
Approximately 5.5 inches across the widest part of the rounded body
Approximately 3.5 inches across the top opening
An appealing piece of vintage American art pottery, particularly for collectors of Niloak, Arkansas pottery, or matte-glazed ceramics.
