Vintage Mitterteich Bavaria Neoclassical Porcelain Plate Ornate Gilt Frame 15\" For Sale

A dramatically presented vintage Mitterteich Bavaria porcelain cabinet plate displayed in an elaborate gilt frame.

The porcelain plate features a rich emerald-green ground ornamented with delicate gilt vines and floral medallions. At its center is a finely rendered neoclassical scene of three figures in a pastoral landscape, surrounded by intricate gold decoration and smaller floral reserves.

The plate is mounted within an ornate square frame with deeply modeled scrolling foliage, flowers and pierced Rococo-style ornament. Its warm antiqued gold finish provides a striking contrast to the saturated green porcelain and transforms the plate into a substantial piece of wall decoration.

Marked Mitterteich Bavaria / Made in Germany to the reverse of the porcelain.

Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related wear. The porcelain and gilt decoration show minor surface wear consistent with age. The ornate frame has scattered rubbing, darkening and wear to the gilt finish, particularly on projecting details. Please review photographs closely for complete condition.

The presentation is what makes this piece. A traditional Bavarian cabinet plate becomes almost architectural when surrounded by the oversized pierced gilt frame.
