Beautiful vintage Mexican serape-style woven blanket featuring a warm tan/brown background with vibrant multicolor stripes in turquoise blue, red, pink, green, purple, yellow, black and white.
The blanket features a small traditional geometric motif in the center, graduated rainbow-style bands throughout, and natural white fringe at both ends. The large 96\" x 60\" (8 ft x 5 ft) size makes this an impressive display piece.
The textile appears to be handwoven and has the substantial feel and texture associated with vintage Mexican wool or wool-blend blankets. Based on its construction and design, it appears to be a 20th-century Mexican weaving, possibly mid-century, although the exact age and fiber content have not been professionally authenticated.
Approximate measurements: 96\" long × 60\" wide.
Vintage condition with age-related wear, loose/frayed fringe, wrinkles and other imperfections visible in the photographs. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
A beautiful piece for a Southwestern, Western, Mexican folk art, hacienda, ranch or bohemian collection, and large enough to use as a wall hanging, bed covering or decorative textile.
