Up for sale/sale is a beautiful vintage Mexican folk art red clay pottery oval serving dish/baker.
This charming piece is entirely hand-painted (Hecho a mano) and features a whimsical, vibrant Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) sugar skull skeleton dog holding a bone against a rich, mottled cobalt blue interior background. Trim around the edge is painted Black.
The exterior sides are beautifully finished with an elegant hand-painted cream slip and cobalt blue leaf/vine pattern, accented by two convenient integral handles.
The underside shows the rich, unglazed red terra cotta clay and is signed "Canndrea / Made in Mexico."
CONDITION:Excellent vintage condition! Super clean with no chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or scuffs. The glaze is incredibly glossy, and the colors are crisp and vibrant.
