Vintage Mabie Todd Swan Fountain Pen Minor SM200/60. 14k Gold Nib. Restored:
$141.72

Having been introduced in 1931, the Swan Minor was marketed emphasizing the flush-fitting vulcanite lever - a great feature, if you've ever snagged one of your lever-filling pens in a shirt or jacket pocket. This pen is the SM200/60, the 60 denoting that the material of the body is celluloid - with an attractive chasing pattern on these models.

Committed offers are highly encouraged.

The pen has been comprehensively restored: the nib and feed removed and ultrasonically cleaned, with the body, cap, and section all polished to a pleasant finish. A latex sac has been fitted with the appropriate adhesive, coated for smooth operation with French chalk, and re-inserted with a dowel to ensure correct fit and proper operation before the nib and feed have been re-installed. The model number and the swan motif on the top and bottom of the pen have both been highlighted, as have the barrel imprints. The chasing and barrel imprints have experienced some wear. Superficial surface scratching. No cracks. Good working condition.

The barrel imprints read:

"SWAN" MINOR

MABIE. TODD & CO LTD

MADE IN ENGLAND

TRADE MARK

On the post end of the body is displayed the model number:

SM200 / 60

The #2 nib on this pen is broad, smooth, and firm. A well-lubricating ink recommended.

The nib is engraved with the TODD

& Co Ltd

MADE IN

ENGLAND

This is a lovely example of Mabie Todd's early 1930's handsome Swan Minor series of fountain pens.

Tested with Diamine Beau Blue ink, on Rhodia 80gsm Dot paper.

I hope to have provided an adequate description of this pen, though if you do have any questions, feel free to message me.

Parcels will be sent by First Class UK recorded postage and packaging. Fully Tracked Express International postage is also available at a reasonable price, as well as an option for the USA.

If you have any questions, please do ask, and if you would like to send an offer with a message, please feel free to do so as well. Thank you!
