Title: Vintage Los Castillo Taxco Mixed Metal Metales Casados Giraffe Serving TrayDescription:A premier, highly collectible work of mid-century Mexican modernist design. This authentic handwrought serving platter or dresser vanity tray was crafted by the iconic Los Castillo workshop in Taxco, Mexico. Known globally for pioneering advanced metallurgy, Los Castillo perfected the metales casados (married metals) technique shown here, seamlessly fusing disparate alloys into a uniform, flush decorative surface. The front of the tray features an artistic, stylized scene of two minimalist giraffes set against a background of diagonal geometric accent lines. This design beautifully utilizes the natural color contrast of the metals, inlaying glowing brass or silver figures directly into a heavy solid copper base platter. Because the metal is fully inlaid through the structural plate, the stylized silhouettes reflect cleanly through both the front face and the reverse backing. The underside of the tray is stamped with the authentic circular hallmark:
LOS CASTILLO TAXCO
HECHO EN MEXICO
