Vintage Live Snake Keeper Carrier Box – Traditional Lidded Reptile Holding Container
Up for sale is an incredibly unique and rare piece of herpetological and cultural history—a vintage live snake holding and transport container. Unlike decorative boxes, this robust vessel was designed specifically to securely house a live snake.
Design & Security Features:The container features a classic tapered, barrel-like silhouette reminiscent of traditional snake-handling baskets. It is reinforced with three heavy-duty carved wooden legs/brackets that run up the sides to provide superior stability and structurally reinforce the frame. The inset matching lid fits tightly into the top collar to prevent any escapes, and the textured, heavy woven paneling provides a historic, authentic look while remaining incredibly solid.
Whether you collect vintage herpetological equipment, oddities and curiosities, traditional global folk art, or need an unmatched conversation piece/movie prop, this authentic snake carrier is a phenomenal find!
Condition Details:This container is in solid, stable vintage condition. It shows gorgeous, genuine cosmetic aging including weathered paint surfaces, minor scuffs, and a beautiful natural patina on both the wood and woven panels. The lid fits snugly.
