Vintage wooden London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) ambulance box / first aid chest. Measures 15.5 inches wide, 8.5 inches tall, 8.25 deep.
An original and unusual piece of British railway history featuring large painted \"LNER AMBULANCE\" lettering on the lid and a painted red cross emblem on the front. Constructed from wood. The leather carrying strap has disintegrated but the brass strap hardware is marked LNE-E and someone who\'s good with leather could replace it.The box exhibits authentic age, wear, and surface markings consistent with decades of service and storage. The painted lettering remains highly visible and displays beautifully. This would make an excellent addition to a railwayana collection, railroad museum display, medical history collection, or industrial décor setting.
I have not attempted any restoration or refinishing. It is being offered in its found condition.
