Offered for sale is a vintage German Silver L'Ame powder compact dating to around the late 1920s. Features an embossed low relief scene of a Victorian or 1700s style courting couple with flowers and a textured background. Includes a small blank rectangular cartouche window on the front meant for personal engraving and a hinged round lid. Made from "German silver" which is a nickel silver alloy of copper, nickel, and zinc containing no actual elemental silver. Inside is a clean mirror and a puff. Printed inside is L’Ame LA-MAY Patent March 21, 1925. Excellent vintage condition. 2.0” in diameter.
