Titled "Vilarejo" (The Small Village), this piece is meticulously handcrafted using varying natural tones and textures of dried banana tree bark and leaf fibers.What makes this specific piece a true museum-quality find is its 100% intact provenance. The back features the artist's original, typed Currículo Geral (Exhibition Resume) tracing his career from 1974 through 1983, along with a handwritten date mark from circa 1978.
Authenticity: Signed on the front by the artist. Features the original biographical and title label fully intact on the reverse.
The Frame: The artwork is housed in Olíbio’s signature multi-tiered, textured frame—also completely constructed out of matching natural banana tree fiber.
