Beautiful vintage Japanese Shōhō (昭峰) celadon ceramic snake figurine, featuring a wonderfully sculptural coiled design with delicate raised floral and botanical decoration.
The snake is finished in a glossy pale aqua-blue/green celadon glaze and curls around itself to create an open circular center. A lovely example of Japanese zodiac pottery that displays beautifully from every angle.
The underside retains the original black-and-gold Shōhō / 昭峰 foil maker's label, and the piece also has a small impressed mark near the base.
