Our family was stationed in Okinawa in the mid 1950\'s. My parents bought a number of these scroll hangings and they were displayed in their home for many years.
This scroll hanging is 40 inches long and 11-1/2 inches wide and includes a bone colored cylinder weight on the bottom and sturdy curved top piece with a patterned tie for hanging.
The beautiful painted scene is of a mountain valley with a stream and a man fishing. The painting is signed with a red Japanese block character and a black signature. The borders are delicate patterned gold filigree.
