Charming vintage Japanese miniature three-drawer tansu/kodansu chest featuring a deep burgundy-red lacquered finish with gold-tone traditional Japanese crest (kamon-style) decoration.
The tiny chest measures approximately 4” tall and features three functional drawers with small gold-tone metal pulls. Its diminutive size makes it a wonderful display piece for a collection of Japanese decorative arts, miniatures or vintage Asian décor.
The underside bears a diamond-shaped “KT” maker/exporter mark along with “JAPAN.” The exact maker and date have not been confirmed.
The decorative motifs include traditional Japanese crest-style designs, including a crossed-feather motif reminiscent of the takanoha (hawk feather) family of Japanese kamon.

Condition:
