Vintage Japanese Satsuma Style Ceramic Koro Incense Burner For Sale

This is a beautiful vintage Japanese koro (incense burner) featuring a distinctive Satsuma-inspired design with moriage detailing. The piece is crafted from ceramic with a tripod base and a decorative lid topped with a Foo Dog (Shishi) finial. It displays a dramatic color palette of smokey black and grey fading into a creamy white body, accented with hand-painted gold gilt highlights. The body is decorated with abstract dragon or cloud-like motifs in raised relief. The underside features a \'Japan\' mark, indicating it was produced during the mid-20th century for the export market. Its small, handheld scale makes it a perfect decorative accent for a shelf or altar. The condition is excellent for its age, with minimal wear to the gilding and no visible chips or cracks.
