A collectible vintage Hermès Paris double-deck playing card set featuring the celebrated designs of French Art Deco artist A. M. Cassandre, originally created for Hermès in the late 1940s.
Beautifully illustrated with elaborate court figures, ornamental floral motifs, and gilded card edges, this set reflects Cassandre’s distinctive approach to graphic design. Printed in France by Draeger Frères for Hermès Paris, with the original illustrated attribution cards identifying the designer and printer.
The set includes both complete playing card decks in coordinating red and blue illustrated tuck boxes, housed in the original signature orange Hermès presentation box marked 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris.
The cards retain vibrant colors and attractive gilded edges, with possible light signs of handling and age. Both original tuck boxes show wear, and the outer presentation box has visible age-related wear, including scuffing, corner deterioration, and discoloration. Please review all photographs for condition details.
