A very special, stunning vintage (stored only) authentic handwoven 100% fine tapestry wool textile runner by the celebrated artisan weaver Robin Reider Knight, a notable fiber artist (Rio Grande style) who has been active for several decades in the historic weaving community of Chimayo, New Mexico.
Provenence; artist’s original vintage studio card/tag remains with this ribbon runner authenticating it as a piece sold through premier regional galleries such as Weaving/Southwest and Open Space Taos.
This textile art is a beautiful example of modern Rio Grande style weaving; features a masterful, hand-dyed color gradient that shifts seamlessly through rich shades of cerulean, slate and navy blue. These soothing gradients are grounded by sharp, dramatic bands of deep plum and violet. Woven tightly from 100% fine wool, this gives this runner a substantial, durable weight with a beautiful tactile, ribbed surface texture. Both ends are finished with clean, hand-tied cream wool fringe.
This versatile piece works beautifully as a high-end statement accent in mid-century modern, southwestern or contemporary minimalist spaces; as a table runner, wall hanging or bed runner that lays beautifully across the foot of a bed to ground a neutral linen palette. Excellent vintage condition, ready to use and admire!
- runner is approximately 49” long (with fringe) x 15.75” wide
- made in New Mexico USA
