For sale is a vintage HMC Standard chrome pocket lighter, made in Japan during the mid-century era. While labeled “Standard,” this lighter features a mechanism that feels like a meeting of the minds between Ronson and Kreisler, making it an interesting example of mid-century lighter design.
While many manufacturers of the period focused primarily on body designs, this lighter takes a different approach. Its body features simple stripes and a personalization panel, a common feature of the era. The real standout, however, is the top, which showcases distinctive Art Deco-inspired detailing that sets it apart from more conventional designs.
Although not an elaborate or flashy lighter, this is a relatively uncommon and genuinely interesting piece from a design perspective. It would make a great addition to a vintage lighter collection, particularly for collectors interested in Japanese-made lighters and unique mechanical designs.

All lighters are shipped in individual safety bags and come with new flints. I do not fuel lighters before shipping! All lighters are shipped empty.
Important: If you plan to display your lighter, please remove the flint to avoid damage and future flint jams.
