Vintage General Electric Oven Temperature Tester (Model WB80X28)**
Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible mid-century General Electric Oven Temperature Tester (Cat No. 8941378G5), complete in its original protective carrying case. This was a classic industrial tool used by appliance technicians in the 1940s and 1950s to calibrate home stoves. Based on the documentation printing stamp, this unit dates to around April 1955.
**Condition & Testing Details:**
* **TESTED & WORKING:** The internal thermocouple circuit has been verified using a controlled heat source. The analog gauge needle moves smoothly and fluidly up the scale when heat is applied, and returns naturally back down to room temperature when cooling.
* **Cosmetics:** Excellent vintage condition. The glass gauge face is clean and clear. The original step-by-step instruction sheet pasted inside the lid remains entirely intact and perfectly readable.
* **Self-Powered:** This tool operates entirely via thermocouple millivolts generated by heat—it requires NO batteries, power cords, or external electricity to operate.
**Includes:**
* Vintage GE Tester gauge unit
* Original leatherette carrying case
* Original heavy-duty insulated probe wire with the metal "Thermoshield" rack clamp
