Vintage Faux Powder Horn Wood Folk Art Scrimshaw Style Scott 9” Reproduction
Vintage decorative faux powder horn made of lightweight wood with an early American/Revolutionary War-inspired design.
Features scrimshaw-style carved/etched folk art decoration, including a buffalo/bison hunting scene on one side and the name “SCOTT” within a scroll design on the reverse. Darkened accents and an aged finish give it a great primitive frontier appearance.
Measures approximately 9” long.
The horn contains small loose filler material inside that creates an intentional shaker/rattle sound when moved, similar to the sound of a maraca. This appears to be part of the construction/design of the piece and is not damage or a loose broken component.
Vintage pre-owned condition with surface wear, scratches, finish wear, age-related cracking/crazing and other imperfections as shown in the photos.
This is a decorative reproduction piece and is not an authentic Revolutionary War-era powder horn. Great for Revolutionary War reenactment displays, early American/frontier décor, folk art collections, rustic décor, or powder horn collections.
