The menus identify Ellen Schirmer and the Willow Tree Cafe at 205 East First Street. In 2001, Theo and Linda Hollerbach purchased the existing Willow Tree Cafe and gradually transformed the business into the German restaurant that became a landmark of Downtown Sanford.
The larger menu features an attractive “Historic Downtown Sanford” cover with willow-tree and café artwork. Inside are period selections and prices for soups, salads, sandwiches, specialty coffees, German beer and wines. The smaller menu features soups, salads, quiche, sandwiches, pastries, coffee and desserts.
These menus offer a fascinating glimpse at the pre-Hollerbach history of the Willow Tree Cafe, before its transformation into one of Downtown Sanford’s best-known restaurants. An especially appealing collectible for longtime Sanford residents, Hollerbach’s patrons, and collectors of Sanford, Orlando, Central Florida, restaurant and local-history memorabilia.
