Manchester gave the world plenty of fine things, and Duncan Briars deserves a place on that list! Founded in 1899 by John Louis Duncan, the company spent nearly a century turning out English briar, building a reputation for practical craftsmanship and a few clever innovations along the way.
The Duncan workshop also helped shape the career of George Walker, who would go on to establish Northern Briars after 36 years with the company.
The family sold the business in 1994, bringing an end to nearly a hundred years of Duncan family ownership.
No fancy pedigree required here, folks. Just a Manchester-made briar from a company that knew its way around a pipe, built for the sort of fellow who appreciates good English workmanship without all the fuss.

My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
