The original Wild Turkey opened in Dallas in 1978 and remarkably remains in business today at 2470 Walnut Hill Lane, still using the same 351-5383 telephone number.
Period Dallas telephone directories confirm the two locations operating simultaneously. The 1990–91 Greater Dallas directory lists the original Wild Turkey at 2470 Walnut Hill Lane, 351-5383, along with “Wild Turkey II” at 14902 Preston Road, 239-2532. Both were still listed in the 1992–93 directory.
The matchbook also advertises “Shrimp & Oyster Bar” and “Burgers & Sandwiches.” Front features the Wild Turkey name and an attractive flying turkey illustration.
