Overview & Collector's Note:
This is an English giant from the Golden Era of Comoy's London pipe making. The legendary 127 shape code is famous among English pipe enthusiasts as the classic scale used for the "Gresham Giant" pattern. In this rare Mark-2 iteration, it features a thick, beefy shank and an incredibly robust bowl profile, making it a true centerpiece for any mid-century collection.This specific piece is a factory-flattened sitter variant that balances solidly on a flat surface allowing it to be placed on a desk or table. Crucially for collectors, the original factory aluminum stinger mechanism is completely intact and in perfect operating condition.Condition Report:

• Briar: Outstanding condition. Showcases gorgeous, highly defined Birdseye grain on both flanks with tight cross-grain running fore and aft. The rim features an excellent, clean cross-cut grain pattern.
• Stem: The stem had a couple of deep bite marks which have now been removed. The repair, however, resulted in the loss of some of the vulcanite material, causing the taper of the tapered stem to be a little steeper as it nears the button. The repair was completely successful and only minor aesthetics remain. There are absolutely no air leaks in the stem and it will perform as perfectly as it did when the pipe was new. Please check out the pics provided in the photo section.As a side note, the coveted 3-piece inlaid white and metal "C" logo is perfectly intact and crisp.
• Chamber & Mechanics: The chamber is completely sound with no checking or heat damage. Features a thick, beefy shank that transitions into the factory-flattened base. The original stinger is present, fits cleanly, and ensures the pipe's internal engineering is exactly as it left the London factory.
